IG Drones, a leading drone-tech startup, has raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by India Accelerator, with participation from angel investors. The funds will be used to enhance R&D efforts, particularly focusing on creating advanced drone solutions for defense applications, according to a company press release.
Founded in 2018 by Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya and Om Prakash, IG Drones provides a range of drone-based services including surveying, mapping, and inspection. Their services span various sectors such as powerline monitoring, bridge inspection, solar plant and pipeline inspection, and agricultural surveys.
The startup’s flagship product, the AI-powered Jaga drone, is designed for precision tasks. Additionally, IG Drones has developed 5G-enabled drones and is collaborating with the defense sector. Its Kisaan drone offers innovative solutions for farmers in the agricultural sector.
Based in Delhi, Company has worked with the Indian Army, several state governments, and over 100 large enterprises, completing more than 500 projects. The company also launched India’s first indigenously developed simulator, the ‘IG Military Simulator.’ With the Indian drone market projected to reach Rs 2.5 trillion by 2030, IG Drones is positioned to be a key player alongside competitors like Ideaforge and Drona Aviation.
