On Thursday, Intel unveiled its latest line of processors, the Core Ultra 200S series, codenamed Arrow Lake, marking a significant advancement in desktop computing. This new series represents Intel’s first desktop offerings featuring a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU), designed to enhance AI capabilities. The Intel Core Ultra 200S processor family is anchored by the flagship Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 285K, along with five additional desktop processors. Each model is equipped with:

- Up to 16 Efficient Cores (E-cores)
Intel asserts that this new architecture delivers up to 6 percent faster single-threaded performance and 14 percent higher performance in multi-threaded workloads compared to the previous generation. Additionally, the processors integrate a built-in Iris Xe GPU, offering enhanced graphical capabilities.

Focusing on power efficiency, the Arrow Lake processors are designed to operate with up to 58 percent lower package power while running everyday applications and can reduce system power consumption during gaming by up to 165 watts. A standout feature of the Core Ultra 200S series is the dedicated NPU, which facilitates hardware-accelerated AI capabilities.
