Vivo has officially confirmed that its upcoming Vivo X200 series will debut in China on October 14. The announcement follows recent speculations and comes shortly after the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC was unveiled. This flagship chipset, built on a 3nm process, promises up to 40% more power efficiency compared to its predecessor and delivers significant improvements in both single-core and multi-core performance. The Vivo X200 series will be among the first smartphones to feature the Dimensity 9400 chipset, with Oppo’s Find X8 series also set to adopt the same SoC.

Vivo X200 Series Launch Details and Variants

The vivo x200 lineup, which includes the base Vivo X200, Vivo X200 Pro, and Vivo X200 Pro Mini, will be unveiled at an event in China on October 14 at 7:00 PM (4:30 PM IST). The Chinese smartphone brand made the announcement through its official Weibo account, confirming the presence of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset across the entire series.

Color Options for the Vivo X200 Series

Vivo has teased several color options for its upcoming devices:

  • Vivo X200 and Vivo X200 Pro: Available in Midnight Black, Moonlight White, Sapphire Blue, and Titanium.
  • Vivo X200 Pro Mini: Shown in black, pink, green, and white. While the official names of these finishes have not yet been disclosed, the renders hint at stylish and varied colorways.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400: The Heart of the Vivo X200 Series

The Dimensity 9400 SoC is designed with TSMC’s 3nm process and features on-device AI capabilities, a new image signal processor (ISP), and a neural processing unit (NPU). The chipset configuration includes:

  • One Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.63 GHz
  • Three Cortex-X4 cores with a maximum frequency of 3.3 GHz
  • Four Cortex-A720 efficiency cores running at 2.4 GHz

Compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9300, MediaTek claims the Dimensity 9400 delivers a 35% increase in single-core performance and 28% in multi-core performance, alongside an 80% improvement in large language model prompt performance. Additionally, the new chipset is said to be 40% more power-efficient, making it ideal for flagship devices.

Expected Pricing for the Vivo X200 Series

According to leaks, the pricing for the Vivo X200 series in China is as follows:

  • Vivo X200: Expected to start at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 48,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant.
  • Vivo X200 Pro Mini: Rumored to be priced at CNY 4,599 for the 12GB + 256GB model.
  • Vivo X200 Pro: Anticipated to cost around CNY 5,199 for the 16GB + 256GB version.

Broader Adoption of the Dimensity 9400 Chipset

The Vivo X200 series will be one of the first to showcase the Dimensity 9400‘s capabilities, but it won’t be the last. Other flagship devices from Chinese smartphone makers, including the upcoming Oppo Find X8 series, will also feature this powerful chipset.
