Oncare, a cancer care startup, has raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by Huddle Ventures, with participation from institutional VCs like TRTL Ventures, Cloud Capital, and DeVC. The startup aims to use the funds to expand its operations, establishing 10 new centers across Delhi NCR, Bangalore, and Jaipur over the next two years. Additionally, the capital will support team expansion and marketing efforts to raise awareness about its affordable cancer care solutions.
Founded in 2023 by Deepak Kumar and Amar Sneh, Oncare partners with 50-100 bedded hospitals to set up dedicated oncology wings, reducing treatment costs by up to 40% compared to traditional options. Oncare positions itself as an affordable alternative to corporate hospitals, where cancer treatments can exceed Rs 10 lakh. It also offers on-call nursing support to help patients manage side effects and reduce unnecessary hospital visits.
Currently operational in South Delhi, Oncare has provided over 2,500 patients with treatment guidance and completed more than 500 treatment sessions in its 10 months of operation.
India’s growing cancer burden underscores the need for accessible care. According to the Apollo Hospitals Health of Nation report, annual cancer cases in India are projected to rise from 1.39 million in 2020 to 1.57 million by 2025. However, high costs, limited oncology centers, and a shortage of specialists make treatment inaccessible for many. Oncare is striving to address these challenges.
