Furnishka, a furniture retailer founded in 2023 by Ganesh Pawar, has raised Rs 27 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by IndiaQuotient, bringing its total funding to Rs 45 crore. The round saw participation from Sparrow Capital and angel investors, including Udaan co-founder Sujeet Kumar and Ramakant Sharma.
The funds will be directed towards product design and development, enhancing manufacturing and supply chain capabilities, and expanding to new locations. Furnishka aims to streamline India’s complex home furnishing market by addressing key challenges such as long delivery times, high costs, and inconsistent service quality.
Operating in Bengaluru through both online and offline stores, Furnishka offers over 1,000 SKUs with customizable designs at competitive prices. The brand’s innovation in supply chain management, along with efforts to localize and standardize production, has helped it serve over 10,000 customers within its first year. Furnishka currently operates four large-format stores in the city.
Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its product offerings in premium living room, dining room, and bedroom collections, open six more stores, and develop educational content to assist customers in making informed furnishing decisions. The Indian furniture market, projected to grow from $24.47 billion in 2023 to $64.39 billion by 2032, presents a promising growth opportunity for Furnishka as it focuses on customization and affordable premium designs.
