On Thursday, Amazon introduced a new artificial intelligence (AI) video generator designed to help advertisers create content-rich ads with ease. The tool allows users to produce videos featuring a product’s unique selling points and key features using just a single image. Additionally, Amazon has added a live image capability to its existing AI-powered image generator. Both tools are currently available in beta for select advertisers in the US.
Amazon AI Video Generator for Ads
The new AI tools, launched by Amazon Ads, aim to simplify the process of creating engaging and visually appealing video advertisements. According to Amazon, the AI video generator can automatically create six-to-nine-second-long videos at 720p resolution and 24 frames per second (fps). The process reportedly takes around five minutes and produces four variations of each video, allowing users to select the best option.
Videos generated by this tool follow a standard template, featuring two scenes, headlines, background music, and a call-to-action. While the soundtrack can be customized, the overall structure remains consistent. An Amazon spokesperson noted that the tool emphasizes ease of use, but specific details on additional customizations—such as adding natural language text prompts or further editing capabilities—are not yet clear.
Live Image Capability
In addition to the video generator, Amazon introduced a live image capability in its AI image generator, aimed at enterprise clients. This feature allows users to generate animated campaign images, likely similar to looping GIFs that appear in advertisements across web pages.
Both the AI video generator and the live image tool are part of Amazon’s ongoing efforts to enhance advertising solutions for businesses, providing efficient, automated ways to create eye-catching content.
